TABS.

Yesyesyes... know i shouldnt be here now.. haha.. i just had a tough battle with micro econs.. nearly tore the bk into BITS and PIECES..

impatience.. i realised.. over the years, people's patience grew lesser and one of the main trigger is the advance of technology.. so much things have been invented to ease the workload in our lives,to fasten the pace of what we are doing, and to some point, we are even able to multi task now.. smth which wasn't possible in the olden days.. like computers.. the version keeps getting more advance.. windows 93 to 95 to 98 to 2000 to XP and now VISTA. more functions to play with.. one thing to note is the window internet explorer.. in the past.. we can only open one window at a time, now with the creation of TABS... we are able to multi-task.. i could be blog-browsing, listening to online radio, searching for studies materials and do window shopping all at the same time.. not to mention, GOSSIPing in MSN with my friend... 5 things at ONE GO... this shortens or reduces the patience we have for things... our expectations grew higher.. like when we click a link.. we expect the screen to arrive at the website in miliseconds.. waiting for 10secs and above is considered REAL SLOW. i'm a victim of this too i must confess.. on average, when i open my internet explorer, i have more than one tab at the same time...

other examples includes instant gratification.. Macdonalisation globally, worldwide.. every Mac in all over the world selling almost the same food.. standardisation of uniform.. ( haha.. abit of socio here)... to the travelators u see, there's one at dhoby ghaut stn.. between the red line and purple line.. In the past, we just rely on WALKING... i try to avoid using that...

i felt... everything is moving in a real fast pace.. this is especially so in an urban city area like Singapore..alienation, dehumanisation is caused... like whenever im in a train.. i can at least see one person playing away on their PSP or pressing away on their hps... what happened to the most basic communication- talking face to face, letters, notes, hand written cards etc? i must admit tht its unavoidable to rely on msn, emails, sms or even phonecalls to relate to each other nowadays... what i feel is.. no matter what... we shouldn't let this communication break down.. not just indulging oneself in the cyber world.. in a fast moving society.. YES... we do need to work extra hard to keep up the pace... but no matter in what we are dOing.. we must strive hard to main communications with each other.. to at least preserve a tinge of human touch in this era of technolisation...

loves,
FJJ
