ACTION mama.

haha... as what qi calls it :)

WHEEEEE!!! EXams are like TOTALLY over (although this post came in 1WEEK aft my papers ended. HAHA!)

It was definitely a fantastic feeling. Prior to my IBM paper, which is my last for this academic year... i was thinking.. GOSH. thats it. I only studied 4 chapters and I'm sitting for the paper soon. It came out not that bad in the end... HAHA. at least all the chapters i studied came out! Most of the qns were relevant to what i covered. Ok. My heart was practically screaming inside when my papers ended at 1pm. LIKE FINALLY. as pingu puts it.. HAHA!

Me being a hermit crab for the past months, complaining to my close ones about being stuck at home too much and that im gOing absolutely crazy. I celebrated with my uni friends by gOing yum cha at chinatown!! We have been craving this for like months and we finally eat it. Ming n deb were there too. they SPECIALLY took 2hours off to join us.rach came from home. We were like hungry monsters on the loose.. haha! i think even the waitress was afraid of us.

Ok. As i missed out too much. I'll try to list out what i did on each day. Its such an action packed week tht i got to write it down!!

Friday 23 May - first day of ..... FREEDOM
Went back to my previous coy to tempt for a day. It was definitely lovely, seeing familiar faces, talking to them, catching up. :) just that C n WL were not there, both were on leave on the same day. At night, it was the much anticipated clubbing session! by me,yw,boon and pingu and yw's guy friend.

but GOSH.

Phuture was packed and we were force to go zouk coz we can't enter Velvet due to age limit issues. GOSHHHH....

Techno music is PURE CRAP. How could anyone dance happily to it???? Anyway the only plus point was seeing the angmos dance.. they were totally into it and it was fun watching them. other than that, PURE CRAP. I actually got dizzy.. Not because of the two drinks, but due to the stupid atmosphere.yes. swear NEVER to end clubs that play TECHNO.

Saturday 24th May - LOVELY.
Meeting in the morning with YEC. Evening was spent with family. You see, my aunt winnie and aunt june and my uncle and i, our BIRTHDAYS were quite close. so yearly without fail, we'll throw a combine birthday celebration. Last year was a BBQ. We had a chalet at downtown east, all of us were there, including my grandparents. they were SWEET to the core. I'll tell u why later. Oh it was FUN! we hasnt been doing this for a LONG LONG TIME. We sought of had a food marathon. HAHA! ok lunch was at food court at the newly opened E HUB, den tea time at the hongkong cafe, ( in between, my aunts and i we went to this taiwan eatery place to try their food, smth like shilin ye shi or shaolin according to ah neh. HAHA!) straight after, was dinner at this famous chicken rice place in E HUB. After that we walked around E Hub at downtown east. btw, they had a mini ferris wheel.. Do not try though, nothing much. It looks more prettier on the outside than sitting inside. ( reason: IMAGINE, being stared by different levels of people while u were in the ferris wheel, its in the middle of a shopping centre u see and people could juz watch u from the outside like you are animals in zoo. HAHA!)

THEN ... we wandered to the arcade!! GUYS. the arcade is a MUST TRY. Me n my cousins, we had a fantastic time there!!! Thanks to my aunt susie who sponsored us 20bucks. HAHA.. we played lots of games. While we were playing, my aunts n uncles went over to Nebo to chat( u see, they sit n eat again. T.T whb HAHA)

then.. we decided to watch movie! Midnight show at 11.30. All 11 of us! it was such a family event. i LOVE the bonding. HEHE. Movie was Indiana Jones. I must say, Harrison Ford is extremely charming for his age. Mind u, he's nearly 70 this year and you see this old ah pek doing all the action mama things and running around. ( well maybe he didnt have a stand by to do the difficult stunts, but for an ah gong, he's quite agile already!)

Overall, I totaly love this family bonding. 2/4s!! mayb we should book a chalet one day!!

Sunday 25th may - SINGAPORE FLYER.
It was a half day tour with grandparents from mama's side and granny from dad's side, me and my mom. We had high tea at dim sum place at toa payoh. Shoped, looked around, bonding with my grandparents. i totally adore them. ALL 3 of them. Then it was to SF!! I love wat i saw. The scenaries was breathtaking to me.

BUT. It's worth to only go once. Haha.. unless its special occasion with your love ones. I'm already thiking of the solemnization held in MID AIR.

Then it was heartwarming dinner at amk, next to where courts is. :)

Monday 26th May - MOVIE date with THAM!!
GOsh haven seen her in AGES. But i love it! It's like there was no absence AT ALL. Hehe.. we had fantastic crepes at cini basement. that was GREAT! Then movies at cathay. MADE OF HONOR! LOVe the show. It's like the male version of my best friend's wedding. :)

Wed 28th May - UNEXPECTED meetup.
Went for interview at kelly. Was thinking that, since in town and nearly lunch time, might as well meet up with ah neh. Called and arranged. In the end, Yanen, ah neh and me, we were having lunch at MOS in raffles city! it was an unexpected meetup and im so GLAD to see them after such a long time. Hehe.. and we just chatted and fill each other on newest updates. It was my aunt winnie's bdae too. SMSed to wish her and also asked if she wants to join me n my mom's shopping spree later. turned out, she was with my uncle and they were meeting my aunt soon. SO. It turned out to be another unplanned meeting! my mom, both my aunts, uncle, cousin n me. HAHA. AND AND AND my aunt winnie bought me a red MANGO bag as bdae gift! Why red u may ask.. HAHA. coz It's too striking and i simply HAVE to OWN it. My favourite color is still GREEN though. anyway, we had nice cheese cakes n afternoon tea at saycheesecake! this place at great world city. Walked, shopped. and dinner at Kenny rogers. Hehe..I totally enjoyed!

Thurs 29th May - INterview and interview and interview.
Day didnt start on a great note. Was wearing new pair of heels. Every step is in pain. EVERY STEP. Managed to pull myself to the first interview, an HR and admin position. hm.. was quite similar to what i have done previously.. 2nd interview was COOL. new exposure, new jobscope, COOL PAY. and i GOT IT!!! Ask me for details when u see me k. It's not too nice to say all here although MOST of my close friends must have heard of it. HAHA!

Friday 30th May - SLACK+SHOP!
watched a couple of shows online then went J8 with mama. Initially was just lOoking around. END UP. doing shopping spree at S&K. CHEAP DEAL due to GSS. We got quite alot. HAHA!

Well...I cant wait for tml!! Morning is mini meetup with JC friends at ECP. the SUN!! GOSH GOSH GOSH. cant wait. and night. is MEETUP with DEAR SEC CLIQUE!! HOHOHO.

I want to GO OUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

As I stare out of the window, I'm wondering to myself. why why WHY WHY WHY??? WHy am I coped up at home. This is sucha good weather, I could be out somewhere. SHOPPING, SUNTANNING. GOSHHHHHHHHHHHH....

Many people told me i'm fairer now, must be the lack of vitamin D.

AND on top of this, my dear hp earphones gave up on me. I know its problematic, always has been. I didn't know its that serious till today. But GOSH i think my new earpiece cost 20bucks?! or more i dunno. Wx got a new pair and she told me the price, but i forgot. HAHA.

I want to work. I need MONEY! there's alot of unlimited wants in my list and to achieve that, i need $$$$$$. Looking for a temp job is the top priority once my exams end. HAHA.

Recently, I've been accepting functions to host. There's the upcoming golf tournament cum charity dinner on 27th and in sept the mid autumn festival dinner co hosting with my dearest mum. MAYBE I should consider going professional! :P

Ok. This is a random post.

I'm just bored. WAY BORED to the core like a hermit crab. I don't know how orchard looks like now. When was the last time i enter town? Probably 4mths ago when i went shopping for chinese new year. GOSHHHH. and the problem is, when my exams truly end next thurs(22nd), I might not have the mood to celebrate already. You know like your hunger, if you don't eat, after a while the urge to eat just goes off. That's how i will feel then, i'll prob be too busy looking for a job too. GOSHHHHHHHHHHHHh. well don't care. I don't want to think about it.

I can't be a social worker.

Hello my dear friends... I'm finally back blogging.

During my absence here, pretty much incidents took place one after another, back2back.

Firstly, its the cyclone hitting Myanmar. Well to began with, it's properbly one of the poorest country in asia, coupling with its limited resources equals DOOM. You know your people are already suffering and you are down here worrying if your political power wil be shaken if external parties steps in. but HELLO, your people are in danger... If you miss the golden period to save people, which is like the crucial 2 weeks. Thats it.

I'm frustrated you see, many of the above situations can actually be minimised. The damages i mean to the least. But it's always due to man's silly folly actions and stubborness that causes such tragedies.

Second issue, its the scale of 7.9 earthequake in sichuan. One whole freaking school of 900kids were buried alive. Note, its buried ALIVE. Haiz... they are kids you know, they have weak immune system and might not survive the crash. T.T

There were reports that both incidents, the cyclone n earthquake although of natural disasters. Might be indirectly caused by global warming. and may i ask why was there global warming? It's again the silly actions of humans, not conserving of what limited remaining resources we have and constantly inflicting wounds on our mother earth again and again, like rubbing salt to wounds.

you see im frustrated again. Realising that help is needed but could not think of ways to do much. That's why i can't be a social worker. I think more than half of the time, I'll properbly be crying with the family if they cant get the funds or aid which should be rendered to them. HAHA.. If you haven't seen my ku1 gong1, you should ask my close friends. Trust me, you really don't want to see it coming.

Well anyway, mich was quite right. Although my own individual's action may seems small. At least it's the start of something, many small efforts accumulate and combine into one big impact n reaction. Haha.. Maybe conserving natural resources is a good way to start. the 3Rs (sounds familiar yo?!)

REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE.

We must save save save!! Reduce use of plastic bags, stop using disposable items like styrofoam bowls or chopsticks. Hehe.. Doing WHATEVER we can, even if the impact is small. At least we are doing our part. We can have lots of campaigns but if we don't first change our own habits, nothing will change.

Ok .

NEXT!! on a happy note. As most of your may know(if u read my blog LOYALLY HAHA!), I'm in the midst of exams. Stats was BIG SCREWED UP. Econs was ok. Maths was quite ok but could be BETTER. But nvm, all 3 are over. 3down 2 more to go!! Next week there's my favourite socio paper on tues and dreadful IBM on thurs and i'm a FREE BIRD.

Recently, I have a problem. My mind's supposedly, thinking WAY faster than my typing speed! I get frustrated and irritated when i can't project my feelings. You know I think too fast, but i type too slow. So somewhere in between, I'll get stuck and half of the time i don't what i type. WHy?! Cause of my 3sec goldfish memory. I can't remember what I was thinking about moments ago!! Haha...

and so to cheer up myself amidst the disguisting screwed stats paper and exams stress( saysay only,I'm like already having PRE celebration mood. HAHA!), I watched Seducing Mr Perfect. It was one of those eh nonsensical korean movies again. But I did carry off something good from that movie.

And that's this:

Everybody say with me!!!

DANIEL HENNEY. *heart beats faster and faster*

He is cute to the CORE. Cutest guy in my list now. HAHA. If you look like this, contact me! His ang mo is power too. The built too. EVERYTHING.

yeap I'm sleeping soon. Hopefully I'll dream of my Daniel tonight!!Love love to all my dear friends, Can't wait to meet up with everyone.

everyone wants a PIECE OF ME.

Wild S*x

Yes. WILD *E*. A show in discovery channel which showcases us into the world of animals, how they mate and issues on gender authority.

Discovered some real COOL facts.

Clown Fish
Yes the cute cute adorable fish that we see in Finding Nemo. yes NEMO. The way they function is SO CUTE. You know in each family, they follow this hirarchy system. Whereby the size of each fish between each level is a PRECISE difference of 20%. Like the head of the family is 20% bigger than the next fish and the next fish is 20% bigger than the following fish and the size goes down.

Here's the ultimate cool part. Let's say, when the head of the family is being eaten up by another animal. How can a family do without a leader, a male to carry on the family line? At this point of time. the mummy fish, will undergo changes in the BODY aka SEX CHANGE operation into the male fish, the lead of the family. Let's say the one after mummy fish is the brother fish, he will start to produce eggs in his body and he would also undergo sex change operation in his body to a SHE, a female, at the same time grow bigger by 20%. NOTE: they are only ALLOW to grow bigger by 20% when they upgrade, anything more than that, you are being banned and kick out of your own family clan. HOW COOL is that!

ok to apply this in layman term. When your dad's not around, your mum undergoes sex change operation to become your father. Then your brother become your mother, so on and so for. At the same time, everyone grow bigger/taller/heavier by 20%. Anything more than that, you are being banished from the family. T.T

Here's what wiki described about clown fish:

When the dominant female dies, the dominant male changes sex and becomes the female. [2] They exhibit a sexual life style known as sequential hermaphroditism, and specifically the protandrous form where they begin as males and can later in life switch to using functioning female gonads.[3]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clown_fish

Next,

Snakes
Do you know, the ONLY way whereby snakes tell themselves apart, whether you are a male snake or female snake, is through sense of SMELL. Only 2% among snakes are females, the rest are ALL MALES. Ok.. The male snakes locate female snakes by this unique smell that they produce. ( I mean hello~ 98% of your friends are males, it shldnt be too hard to smell out a female partner right?) But there are some male snakes, who actually PURPOSELY produce the female smell to confuse the rest of the snakes, and the funny thing is, most male snakes actually fall in the trap. Reason for doing so is because that clever male snake he wants to divert attention away from the true female snake so that he can have her all to himself.

Apply this to real life, its like cross dressing, transvestite. T.T

Another interesting fact, came across a yahoo site. They found this Squid, and they recorded the LARGEST pupil in the world. Thats even bigger than a dinner plate. GOSH GOSH GOSH. we are talking about DINNER PLATE. Pupil that big?! This squid certainly can see alot more than the rest in the world. But too bad, it's already dead.

Which brings me to another issue. I was asking ah neh. Does it makes a difference when the size of our eyes differ? Like with bigger eyes, do you see more? Example in my eyes you are only a size 8 but in another person's eyes u are a size 12??

Ok Take the tv screen for example. I was watching this show at home , i have a normal average TV screen size( i have absolutely no idea how big it is, 22inch?). Then when i went to my grandma's place the next day ( they have a flat rectangular flat screen tv), i saw the same show again. But this time, everyone seems to put on weight by 20%.

I was wondering, does this applies to us too? Everyone see different amount based on the size of their eyes? HAHA...

I'm puzzled.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

I must must MUST talk about this shop.

It's like RANKED NO.1 under my FAVOURITE EATING place now.

http://www.foodforthought.com.sg/hello.html

The bond, strong bond, sincerity, friendly smiles were what that melted my heart the moment I entered the place.

This was a place strongly recommended by my ex-collegue. To think, I've actually never noticed the shop. Its directly opposite National Lib, and is quite near to the traffic junction. But again, thats also what i liked about the place. It only draws people that TRULY appreciate food you see. :)

The taste of the shitake mushroom soup was still fresh, in fact, as I'm typing this now, I'm already DROOLING. Wenli had Mama Heng, and GOSH GOSH GOSH. Its HEAVENLY.

We were sitting at the counter where you had the VIP view to their whole cookign process. David(1/5 of the owner) chatting merrily to the customers at the counter while preparing his dishes. His amiable and amicable personality must have been another main attraction to that place for me. That down to earth feel. HAHA. I seldom see this kind of open concept in Spore, considering the fact that our society is slowly moving towards ALIENATION and dehumanisation, Food for thought is definitely the place where I'm still able to feel the STRONG human bonds and in chinese call the "qing qie du" in humans.

That was my first time at FOT. I am DEFINITELY going back for more!! bringing my close ones with me. Hee.. Ok. This is a shoutout here to my dear 2/4 pple:

Please meet me for a meal at Food for thought in the weekend before my birthday!!

hee.. I will be looking forward to it.

I plan to try most of the food on the menus, after all.. everything looks so TASTY! their desserts too.. OHOHOH... I love what they are doing. Contributing back to the society. Everything is listed in their website. Organisations, projects that they embark on to help the community. GOSH GOSH GOSH.

Totally heart the place. :)))))))))))))))))))))))

Drooling away.

$9.90 slippers

GOSHHH... Thanks to the slippers...

Yesterday, I was on my way to National lib to meet my friends for our full-day-mugging- session. I reached the study lounge at 9.20, saw my friends and started walking towards them. Just as im doing so, my left slipper suddenly gave way and the STRAP CAME OUT. Just like that. PHEWWW~! luckily it happened there and then at the lib, Can you imagine me,limping my way from the city hal stn if it have broke earlier?! I'll probably just dig a hole and hide myself.

Ika borrowed her slippers to me, i rushed down to cheers(yes you never read wrongly, its CHEERS,the 7-11 alike shop at Bras Besah) spent 10mins choosign a new pair of slippers.. HAHA! and its not bad, i think its nice! hehehe...

I must have accumulated some good karma :)

next... the SWELTERING HOT WEATHER.

Incident 1: I had a lecture at 3.30 today, so as usual, took the normal 7minutes route to the bustop. Note: I havent walked under the blazing sun for weeks coz most of my lessons were in the mrn. I nearly fainted, it was SO SO SO HOT. I could literally feel the sweat tickling down my BACK. YUCKS. nevermind. At last, I reached the bustop.
Damn. The bus took a good TWENTY mins to reach. The expression on my face must have been scary or extremely fierce, I recalled, no one was standing within 2meters of me despite the fact that the bustop was CROWDED.. HAHAHHA... My face was as black as ah neh.

Incident 2: I realised, I'm easily agitated, irritated and grumpy recently. I was talking to Dolly at the nat lib yesterday and ika thought we were QUARRELING when we were not. HAHA! Our expressions must have been real fierce. hee..

and therefore I made a conclusion: I'm a kind soul, sweet, good natured and SELDOM blow my top. The recent episodes of bad temper, irritatingness, grumpiness is SOLELY due to the increased temperature. In other words,

BLAME it on the WEATHER.

Speaking of which, there's this rising awareness on global warming. This broughts up the global community, combined efforts to ease the problem. Haha.. i saw the represent of World Bank urging coporations to contribute and do their part. COOL!! Mass media is definitely the best medium to reach out to people and all these actions defintely speaks louder than words. Actually, all this starts from you and me! ( sounds like an advertisment line right?!) We should do OUR PART for our mother earth!

Save save save, take only when its necessary. Mr bean's a shop that I patronise on a regular basis and they ALWAYS puts my soya bean drink in plastic bags. I was thinking, i actually don't need the bag when I'm drinking on the spot. So recently, I stopped asking for it. Each action COUNTS you see. Hee.. Trips to shops like Popular too.. When i buy small items, I don't ask for package anymore, I'll just dump them into my bag.

There are certain movements tht have taken in place to support the green movement.
1) IKEA. - my favourite furniture mall, their meatballs are FANTASTIC. haha.. ok the main point it, they don't provide plastic bags anymore. All customers are kindly advised to bring their own carriers, otherwise you would have to purchase ur plastic bags. and if im not wrong, all proceeds goes to some charity organisation.
2) SBS - Thank god for the person who created/invented E-Z link card. I think that saved TONS of paper for SBS. In the past, during the flimsy bus card era. you get a bus ticket whenever you board the bus, and the time spent to do so it LONG. Worse, you see the bus ticket EVERYWHERE in the bus. Between seats, on the floor etc. Worse i will keep mine in the wallet, and before i know it, the amount of bus tickets in my wallet is even MORE THAN the cash i carry.
3) The Earth day concert and the earth/green hour? haha.. whatever they call it.

You see... all this action COUNTS!!
As i'm typing this post, under a temperature of 30degree celsius, feeling sticky ALL over despite bathing like juz a few hours ago, I felt that we gradually or IS ALREADY feeling the impact of global warming.

The increase in temperature, spells of droughts, food shortage.. All this spells BIG TROUBLE to us.

ok.. I'm definitely supporting the Green movement, in fact I'm already thinking of bringing my own utensils when i go out in future. haha...
